Erich Berg (founder/owner/renaissance man/badass) moved to Oregon in 2004 with a singular goal: to master the art of winemaking. In 2018, Erich embraced a new adventure by founding Ricochet Wine Company. Starting with just two tons of grapes—Pinot Noir and Grüner Veltliner—Erich had no intention of Ricochet becoming a “real” winery. He was making wine for himself, for his friends and family. But then some friends in the restaurant industry took to the Gruner, and then the Pinot Noir. With encouragement, labels were made, and Ricochet was born. Erich is the real deal! In addition to an impressive portfolio, he has created a space at Ricochet to allow small indy brands to turn their dreams into bottled reality.
