Prep, Prep, and More Prep
Our neighbor, Tim with Anatomy Woodworks, is helping us prep and paint the Airstream. The interior went fairly easily—just a good whitewash. The exterior, however, has two winters worth of frustrated caulking smeared over every seam and around every window in my effort to fix the many leaks we dealt with every time it rained (read: every day).
As for paint color, we are thinking either a mustard yellow or clay orange. Something that feels earthy and also a little retro.
And in other news, we’ve found a welder who is going to put a cool metal trim finish around the service window that matches the original look around the windows. Slowly but steady, we make progress!
